Hi Distroidians!
I hope you are all doing well.
Here is a video where I go over some early work developing a concepts sub-graph in the Distroid Catalogue Knowledge Graph (DCKG).
In the Concepts sub-graph, Works are connected to Concepts by the HAS_CONCEPT relationship, and Concepts are connected to ConceptSchemes by the IN_SCHEME relationship.
I primarily based this sub-graph on the Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) vocabulary.
A Concept can be considered an idea or unit of thought, and a ConceptScheme is an aggregation of these Concepts.
The Concepts sub-graph shows how concepts (i.e., terms) are associated with Works. The ConceptScheme is the scheme (i.e., a controlled vocabulary or classification scheme) that is associated with a Concept.
Through this sub-graph, we can see how different ConceptSchemes are using or defining the same Concept in different ways, and to find linkages between different ConceptSchemes based on the relations of Concepts in the ConceptSchemes, i.e., semiotic bridging.
